Love to Help? Why not volunteer your time!

Volunteers are the heart of creating compassion and spreading more kindness!

Volunteer work can include cleaning and filling water containers, raking and mucking stalls or paddocks, spending one-on-one enrichment time socializing and grooming the animals, and other animal care needs. At certain times of the day you may be able to assist the staff with some feeding tasks. We train you and focus on the safety of both our animals and the volunteers.

Most volunteers report that they get more from volunteering than they give: a true sense of connection.

Want to help in other ways?

Volunteers can get involved with activities outside the realm of direct animal care. Do you like to garden or get physical by fixing fences or walking the pastures to clean up stray sticks and pinecones? Maybe you are a great videographer or photographer? You rock at great social media posts? Maybe you would like to help with fundraising? You could offer workshops on topics related to our mission, or help with the humane education programs.

Volunteer Hours

Volunteer hours vary and can be scheduled during the week or on the weekend, and must be scheduled in advance. We often schedule special project days to come and join in the farm fun for several hours on one Saturday each month!

Age Restrictions

For safety and liability purposes, all volunteers must be at least 10 years of age, no exceptions. Volunteers under 15 will need a parent with them at all times. Volunteers 14-18 will need a parent to accompany them on their first visit.

Volunteering Tips and Suggestions

Closed-toe shoes are required (and boots are strongly recommended). Clothing is likely to get dirty, so keep that in mind when deciding what to wear – and long pants in the summer will protect your legs better than shorts! Work gloves are also a great idea if you have them.
