At EPIC Outreach, we see kindness in motion every single day. Sometimes it’s loud—like laughter from children meeting animals for the first time—and sometimes it’s quiet, like the soft moment when a small hand reaches out to touch a horse’s face.

In that simple gesture, everything changes.

The photo of BUCK the horse being gently petted by a young child perfectly captures what kindness looks like in its purest form: connection. It’s a reminder that compassion often begins with something small—a touch, a smile, a moment of trust—and grows into something far greater.

BUCK’s story is one of second chances. Once uncertain and overlooked, he now lives surrounded by love, patience, and care. Here, he teaches visitors, especially children, about empathy—the understanding that all living beings crave gentleness and safety. When a child reaches out to BUCK, they’re not just meeting a horse. They’re learning about respect, love, and the responsibility that comes with kindness.

This month, as we celebrate World Kindness Day (November 13) and approach the season of gratitude, we’re reflecting on how acts of compassion sustain everything we do. From feeding and caring for over 70 rescued animals to offering hands-on learning experiences for children, every touch of kindness—every donation, volunteer hour, and shared story—makes a difference.

When you give to EPIC Outreach, you’re not just supporting a sanctuary. You’re giving animals like BUCK the freedom to live safely, happily, and with dignity. You’re helping children learn to care for the world around them. And you’re keeping kindness alive, one act at a time.

🌿This Thanksgiving season, may we all remember that the greatest gift we can give or receive is kindness. It doesn’t have to be grand—it can start with something as simple as a touch.

With gratitude,
The EPIC Outreach Family
