EPIC Outreach | December 2025

As the year comes to a close and the sanctuary settles into the quiet rhythm of winter, we find ourselves looking back with full hearts at all the moments of kindness that carried us through 2025. This year, like every year, was defined not by numbers, but by stories. Stories of compassion, connection, second chances, and the beautiful ways animals inspire us to be better humans.

December brings with it a special celebration that speaks directly to the heart of EPIC Outreach: National Day of the Horse (December 13). Horses have always held a sacred place in our mission. They are teachers, healers, and gentle guides, reminding us that strength doesn’t always look loud, and healing doesn’t always look fast. Sometimes it looks like soft eyes, steady breaths, and the quiet trust of a horse who finally feels safe.

This year, horses like BUCK and TAZ reminded us daily what it means to love and to be loved. Whether it was a child resting their small hand against Buck’s soft face or a volunteer brushing Taz during morning chores, these horses offered something the world needs more of, connection. They show us that kindness begins with presence, with slowing down, with meeting another being exactly where they are.

And it wasn’t just the horses.

It was the pigs who learned to trust again, the chickens who found safety, the donkeys who leaned in for affection, the cats who discovered soft beds and warm laps. It was the families who visited the sanctuary and left with new understanding. It was the children whose first lessons in empathy came not from a book, but from a gentle animal who saw them, and let them be seen.

Most of all, it was you.

Every act of kindness shared with EPIC Outreach this year, every donation, volunteer hour, message of encouragement, shared post, animal sponsorship, farm visit, or kind word allowed us to keep saying yes. Yes to safety. Yes to compassion. Yes to healing. Yes to the belief that the world becomes better when we choose kindness on purpose.

As we step into a brand-new year, our wish is simple: May we all continue to lead with love. May we find moments to slow down, connect, breathe, and appreciate the beauty in front of us. May we remember that kindness toward animals, toward each other, and toward ourselves is the greatest gift we can offer this world.

From our hearts to yours, thank you for helping EPIC Outreach create a kinder community and a more compassionate planet in 2025.

Here’s to a new year filled with hope, healing, and endless opportunities to be kind.
