July 1, 2025

As the fireworks light up the sky and flags wave proudly in celebration of independence this July, we invite you to pause and consider what freedom really means—especially for animals who were once forgotten, neglected, or unwanted.

At EPIC Outreach, we define freedom not in words, but in moments:

  • The moment a once-abandoned piglet takes a deep breath and lies in the sunshine for the first time.

  • The moment a horse finally trusts a gentle hand after years of fear.

  • The moment a child looks into the eyes of a rescued animal and sees a friend—not “farm” or “food.”

Freedom to Live means the ability to simply exist without fear. To have space to move, soft grass to rest on, fresh food, clean water, and the comfort of knowing that you’re safe.

Take JIMMY the pig, for example. He was once being raised for meat—his fate sealed from birth. But when his family couldn’t bear to follow through, they reached out to us, and JIMMY’s life changed forever. Today, he’s not only thriving—he’s teaching. With his snorts, tail wags, and gentle nature, he shows every visitor that pigs are more than their label. They’re friends. They’re companions. They’re beings worthy of freedom, just like dogs and cats.

At EPIC Outreach, this is the heart of our mission: to create spaces where animals and people can heal, learn, and connect. We’re not just rescuing—we’re educating, we’re storytelling, and we’re planting seeds for a kinder future.

This Month, We Invite You To:

🌱 Reflect on what freedom means in your life.
🌱 Visit a sanctuary or rescue group to meet animals who’ve been given a second chance.
🌱 Teach your children about compassion by sharing stories of animals like JIMMY.
🌱 Support adoption over buying, and kindness over convenience.

Because freedom isn’t just about where you are—it’s about how you’re treated, how you’re seen, and whether or not you are loved.

Here’s to freedom—the kind that includes all beings.

With hope and compassion, Jessie, Founder of EPIC Outreach
